On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1961 Convention

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness, UNHCR – Office of the Head of Mission in Kosovo in cooperation with the Ombudsman Institution and Civil Rights Program Kosovo (CRP/K) organized a conference on the topic “Leave no one behind – importance of the establishment of the legal identity and access to rights”.

Participants in the conference were representatives of central and local institutions, international organizations, civil society and unregistered persons.

In front of the audience, Mr. Naim Osmani – Executive Director of CRP/K stressed the importance of being close to unregistered persons in order to provide them with identification documents, thus ensuring that no person faces the problem of statelessness. This is also one of the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (16.9.1) as well as the UNHCR #IBelong campaign.
